About The Position

Utility Operator Your role: 1. Work Safely – follow all Plant Safety Rules, Regulations, and Policies 2. To ensure all Government, American Institute of Baking, and Business Unit sanitation requirements for facility sanitation are consistently met. 3. To train and become qualified to fill vacant Operator positions. 4. All Employees are expected to develop the skills necessary to advance to the next level. 5. To Assist All Employees with mill problems as necessary. Above all you will be expected to carry out all your activities with reliability, integrity, compliance and in a safe, environmentally responsible, and efficient manner. Your responsibilities: 1. Responsible for understanding and following all personnel and equipment safety policies; all GMP, HACCP, Sanitation policies; following all Business Unit policies and procedures. 2. Climb stairs between floors. 3. Wear full-body secondary fall protection harness – working from heights above 10 feet. 4. Work in Tight or Enclosed or Confined Spaces 5. Climb ladders to access overheads. 6. Use compressed air hoses / wands to blow down overheads. 7. Scrub floors and Equipment. 8. Feed in flour / mill stocks / bagged product – 50 pounds. 9. Help move 50-pound ingredients boxes into position. 10. Empty 50-pound boxes and bags into waist high feeder hoppers 11. Wear required Personal Protective Equipment. 12. Comfortable with computers – able to enter data into plant control system computers for record keeping and operate computer process controls. 13. Dump out 50-pound malt bags. 14. Operate chain hoist and pallet jack. 15. Follow verbal and written instructions (English). 16. Communicate with peers and supervisors (English) 17. Pick up spilled product with shovels / barrels (wheat, screenings, flour, mill stocks, feed, etc.). 18. Repair work on sifters on mill repair days. 19. Keep assigned work area clean, tidy, and uncluttered. 20. Operate Fork Truck 21. Become Qualified as Relief Loader/Blender 22. Become Qualified as Relief Elevator Operator including Track Engine Operation 23. Become qualified to do basic Maintenance tasks ie: Roll Changing, Spouting, Leak Repairs 24. Become Qualified to perform basic Miller duties, ie: unchoking lifts and spouts, taking extractions, adjusting roll grind 25. Other related job tasks / functions as assigned by management.
