About The Position
Gehl Foods is a fast-growing food and beverage manufacturer, known for ready-to-serve products like nacho cheese and protein shakes—no refrigeration needed! They lead with safety, quality, and teamwork in everything they do. The Utility Operator will work with cross-functional production teams and provide coverage to various lines or processes within this manufacturing environment.
Requirements
- 3 years of manufacturing experience, ideally in a food, process, high-speed packaging or Form-Fill-Seal industry
- Previous forklift experience
- Technical knowledge of aseptic processes, equipment and products
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Ability to interpret, communicate and execute plans or instructions in a time sensitive manner with limited direction and resources
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment (stand for 8+ hours and lift up to 55 lbs)
- Team-player mindset who shows up on time and ready to work
Responsibilities
- Work with cross functional production teams and provide coverage to various lines or processes
- Makes proper hook-ups and line set-up activities for starting and operating lines
- Organizes and executes rework
- Ensure line communication boards are filled out
- Trains new team members on line operation, including equipment and control system operation, documentation and sampling requirements
- Responsible for troubleshooting and communicating production issues to Supervisor
- Safely operates a forklift in order to keep assigned work area supplied with necessary production materials
- Audits line staff’s paperwork to ensure paperwork is filled out accurately and in real time
