About The Position

Under general supervision this position supports licensed HVAC technicians in installing, maintaining, and repairing heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems. This entry-level role is designed for individuals beginning their career in the HVAC trade and provides hands-on training while emphasizing safety, technical skill development, and professional growth Position Specific Accountabilities 1. Support technicians with the operation, installation, basic troubleshooting, and repair of residential and commercial HVAC systems, including air handlers, rooftop units, boilers, chillers, cooling towers, VAVs, and exhaust systems. 2. Assist with preventative maintenance, system inspections, and Building Automation Systems (BAS) to help ensure safe, comfortable, and energy-efficient campus facilities 3. Learn BAS fundamentals, including sensors, controllers, actuators, and control sequences 4. Help diagnose basic mechanical and electrical issues under supervision. 5. Maintain accurate maintenance logs and work order documentation 6. Carry tools, materials, and equipment to job sites and ensure work areas remain clean and organized 7. Learn to read and interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals 8. Support basic tasks such as ductwork assembly, filter changes, belt replacements, lubrication, equipment cleaning, and system testing 9. Follow all safety procedures, including proper use of PPE and safe handling of refrigerants and electrical components 10. Help load and unload materials, inventory parts, and maintain company vehicles 11. Communicate professionally with customers and team members 12. Participate in ongoing training, coursework, and on-the-job learning to advance technical skills 13. Perform other duties as assigned or requested. Requirements
