About The Position

Perform manual tasks including general maintenance at a skilled level involved in the equipment used for the maintenance of water, lines and meter, and/or plants. Must be willing to work and learn the functions of the department. May be subject to call out service after hours. This position has no supervisory responsibilities. Working with co-workers as a team on daily and weekly household maintenance of water storage sites. Mowing and trimming around tanks and fences. On occasion, repair fence, paint pipes and buildings, and pump and motor maintenance. Must have and maintain, without interruption, all necessary licenses, certifications, clearances, and/or job requirements. Work the assigned schedule and comply with City timekeeping and attendance policy. Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
• One to three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Experience in construction trades such as concrete work, pipe work, electrical and general labor.
• Valid Texas driver's license and good driving record.
• Must have Class D Groundwater Operator License with ability to acquire class "C" Groundwater Operator license within 12 to 24 months of hire.
• Position may require moderate to heavy lifting and carrying; kneeling, crouching and bending; pushing, pulling and reaching; and standing for prolonged periods of time.
