Utility Locate Supervisor
About The Position
Lake Superior Consulting (LSC) is seeking a Utility Locating Supervisor to join our growing team! This is an exciting opportunity to lead a high-performing team that provides utility locating and leak detection services critical to the safety and reliability of our clients’ infrastructure. This is a hands-on leadership role where you’ll guide operations, drive quality and safety, and ensure field teams deliver exceptional results every day. Requirements
- Minimum 5 years of experience in utility line locating and/or leak detection (required).
- Supervisory or crew leadership experience (required).
- Strong understanding of utility locating equipment, methods, and techniques.
- Familiarity with leak detection and underground facility infrastructure.
- Knowledge of utility permitting and applicable safety regulations.
- Excellent communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
- Experience developing and leading teams with a focus on performance and accountability.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).
- Ability to travel up to 25–40% as needed.

Responsibilities
- Lead and oversee field operations for utility locating and leak detection services.
- Supervise and support field leads, technicians, and crews to ensure work is completed safely, accurately, and on time.
- Provide coaching, training, and professional development opportunities to team members.
- Collaborate with schedulers, other supervisors, and business lines to efficiently staff and manage projects.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, client specifications, and federal and industry regulations.
- Conduct weekly safety meetings and champion a culture of health, safety, and quality.
- Review project data, safety documentation, and quality reports from initiation through closeout.
- Manage budgets, operating plans, and resource allocation to maintain efficiency and profitability.
- Partner with internal teams and clients to resolve field issues, improve workflows, and enhance customer satisfaction.
- Participate in the hiring, onboarding, and field training of new employees.
- Assist in locates within your area when needed.
