About The Position

Consolidated, a cooperative in Central Ohio dedicated to improving the quality of life for our members and communities, is seeking an Utility Line Locator. As an Utility Line Locator at Consolidated, you'll be part of a team of professionals committed to serving our members and community. You'll be responsible for thoroughly locating, marking, and documenting underground facilities (electric, fiber, natural gas, and propane). Requirements

  • A high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Valid driver's license and safe driving record
  • Ability to obtain and maintain Operator Qualification certification to locate gas lines and the ability to learn our mapping system – training will be provided.
  • Capable of making full use of available tools and technologies.
  • Effective communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
  • Accuracy, self-motivation, and emotional intelligence.
  • Aptitude to fulfill all the competencies for the position (Job Knowledge; Planning, Coordination, & Organization; Priorities Management; Service Delivery; Standards & Practices; Technical Competence; and Vehicle Operation).
  • Frequent driving, walking, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, and pulling with ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Outside work including exposure to weather conditions and uneven terrain.
  • Able to distinguish between colors used to identify wiring and mark underground utilities.
