Location & Shift : Webster, WI. Qualified candidates will need to report to the Webster, WI facility on a full-time basis. This position is open for 2nd or 3rd shift. The Utility Assembly Technician is accountable for support of manufacturing activities, serving upstream and downstream customers, and producing quality products. Performing a variety of tasks relating to the assembly of products, various shipping and receiving activities, basic machining or other manufacturing processes, etc.

Requirements

  • Must be able to read, write, and use basic math; a high-school diploma (GED or HSED) is preferred.
  • Training is provided on-the-job.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous assembly experience is beneficial as are computer skills.

Responsibilities

  • Assembles product.
  • Collects parts and prepares for assembly a sufficient quantity of each to complete the number of units specified by the production schedule.
  • Assembles units, following standard assembly procedures and checking continuously for quality.
  • Performs quality checks, such as leak and torque tests, on assembled units per standard procedures and specifications including attaching all identifying labels and serial numbers.
  • Enters information into business software using computer terminal
  • Identifies any unit that does not meet Nexen standards.
  • Removes any non-conforming part from the assembly.
  • Fills out NCR, and places part in Non-Conforming material location.
  • If there is a missing component, creates a missing component NCR and follows proper procedure.
  • Packages and prepares units for shipment to customers.
  • Rework units that fail to pass quality control checks.
  • Disassembles units that do not meet standards and replaces faulty components or corrects assembly errors.
  • Provides backup to the shipping area as needed; including, picking orders, completing computer transactions, receiving goods, stocking shelves, etc.
  • Occasionally performs other production work, as requested.
