About The Position

As a Utility Operator you are a rover and will be assisting as necessary in preparing and expanding Nomex blocks to meet specifications, trimming blocks, staging blocks for the saw, and assisting with packing orders for shipment. TEMPORARY FOR THE SUMMER Currently there is an opening for a Utility in our Aramid division on 1st shift (6:30a - 2:30p. Monday - Friday) Aramid Utility Operator: Starting at $19.58 per hour on 1st Shift. Key Responsibilities: Startup/verify secondary equipment (dust collector) is operating. Check schedule to determine next order to process. Read work order instructions and process specifications. Use overhead crane to load/unload Aramid blocks from saw table. Trim sides of blocks using a vertical band saw. Change saw blades and guides using small hand tools. Measure blocks using tape measure. Stage blocks for saw operators. Inspect blocks and slices for quality issues. Select and trim packaging materials to required size using handheld saw or cutting machine. Pack orders in corrugated or wood containers according to customer requirements. Print and apply labels to packaging. Complete associated paperwork. Enter process and work order information into computer system to maintain accurate records. Monitor equipment and make setup adjustments as necessary. Communicate with management representatives regarding any material or equipment concerns. Record production and scrap information on team board charts. Assist in performing quarterly inventory checks. Assist other departments as necessary. Maintain an inventory of supplies. Notify supervisor when re-order level is reached. Provide the customer with the best value including Cost, Quality, and Delivery by being efficient, productive, and careful. Actively participate in improving our product, processes, equipment, and methods. Maintain a clean and safe work environment at all times including waste/scrap removal and cleanup of equipment. Perform all reasonably related duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED Preferred
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Mechanically inclined
  • Ability to work overtime.
  • Must be eligible to work on programs subject to ITAR (International Traffic in Arms Regulations).
