You Are: A skilled utility industry practitioner with the know how to help clients meet the challenges of digitization. You have the experience, creativity, and analytical power to design and implement the next generation of real-time grid management (SCADA/EMS/ADMS/DERMS) solutions: your bread and butter are the utility processes underlying the real time grid management selection, implementation, and maintenance. The Work Understand client challenges and articulate the value of transformation in terms of business outcomes. Constantly learn and bring new technologies and innovative grid management solutions to our clients. Work with utilities to design and implement real-time grid management systems like ADMS, EMS, SCADA and DERMS. Provide thought leadership on Real time operational systems Drive growth of our engineering and planning practice Enable capability development across the Utility value chain. Upstream of operations (e.g. Planning, Interconnections) and downstream of operations (e.g. Customer Interactions) Develop, review and edit complex delivery plans Manage and support mitigation of delivery risks Collaboration with real time systems vendors to drive solutioning and delivery Manage client relationships to drive delivery success Provide sales support for key experience areas Champion people on your team to succeed professionally and personally Foster trusted advisor relationships with clients from strategy to technology; from the C-Suite to the front line; for business and IT Integrate business data to discover new insight and enable evidence-based business decisions. Ability to travel up to 100%.

Requirements

  • At least 10 years of experience in utility operations and real-time systems, with deep expertise across Transmission & Distribution (T&D) control room environments, including grid operations, reliability, and system optimization.
  • Recognized expertise in one or more core operational platforms, including SCADA, EMS, ADMS, DERMS, OMS, or related real-time and operational technologies, with the ability to advise on architecture, integration, and transformation at an enterprise level.
  • Proven track record of leading complex, large-scale transformation programs, serving as a functional or technical authority across strategy, design, and delivery in mission-critical environments.
  • Demonstrated ability to operate as a trusted advisor to senior utility stakeholders (e.g., COO, CTO, Grid Operations leadership), shaping modernization strategies and influencing key operational and technology decisions.
  • Experience working within highly regulated, reliability-critical environments, with a strong understanding of how operational systems support grid stability, resilience, and compliance.
  • Ability to bridge business, operations, and technology, translating grid operations requirements into scalable, future-ready solutions.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required.
  • Willingness to travel as needed to support client engagements and executive stakeholder alignment.

  • Recognized as a thought leader or domain expert in utility operations or real-time systems, with experience contributing to industry forums, publications, client workshops, or internal intellectual property development.
  • Deep understanding of regulatory, compliance, and reliability frameworks governing utility control room operations (e.g., NERC, FERC), and their implications on system design and operations.
  • Experience in a consulting or professional services environment, with a strong ability to lead client engagements, shape problem statements, and deliver executive-level recommendations.
  • Demonstrated experience defining target operating models, governance structures, and transformation roadmaps for control room modernization and grid operations.
  • Familiarity with emerging trends, including distributed energy resource integration, grid digitization, advanced analytics, and AI-driven operational decision-making.

Responsibilities

  • Support solutioning of complex real time systems projects
  • Steer delivery excellence while managing delivery risks, client expectations and financials
  • Manage delivery teams for large transformations
  • Partner with client executive leadership to mitigate delivery risks and support issue resolution
  • Establish and monitor success metrics to measure delivery success
  • Support development of thought leadership and assets for real time systems operations
  • Build end to end capability for Engineering and Planning work
  • Support response to proposal for T&D projects
  • Mentor T&D practitioners and support career progression
