What this job involves The Operations and Maintenance Technician will ensure that all water systems and associated equipment are operating properly via visual inspections, water management systems, and written logs. Respond to a wide range of mechanical and electrical problems and troubleshoot to repair. Document and communicate problems encountered through electronic work order systems, electronic mail and voice systems. Perform preventative maintenance and inspection on all utility systems and associated equipment. Successfully complete training and demonstrate an ability to perform equipment monitoring and operational checks on utility equipment. What your day-to-day will look like Provide general labor services throughout all areas maintained by the Utility Maintenance department including cleaning and organization of designated work areas Complete site GMP requirements in relation to training and site practices Maintain GMP training qualifications to ensure site compliancy standards Interact well with others in a team environment including Maintenance, Engineering team members as well as other internal and external customers Work independently and follow escalation policy if needed while maintaining strong organizational skills and time management Work in GMP environments with a safety-first mindset, handling hazardous materials and chemicals while wearing various PPE when necessary, per SOPs and JHAs

Requirements

  • High School Graduate with 3+ years general maintenance experience
  • Must have knowledge of reverse osmosis units, electro-deionization, vapor compression stills, clean steam generators, water softeners, filters, steam and cold glycol heat exchanging systems
  • Ability to read and understand mechanical blueprints and electrical schematics.
  • Basic knowledge and use of hand tools
  • Experience with automated control systems, boilers, air compressors, air dryers, and their associated steam delivery systems along with automation controls
  • Previous GMP environment experience and working knowledge of CMMS systems
  • Knowledge of basic PC skills along with common applications for interoffice communication
  • Working knowledge of PLCs, HMI interfaces and other automated devices
  • Physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds, climb ladders, work at heights, crawl, kneel, stoop and work in small spaces
  • Ability to work alternative shifts including graveyard shifts, weekends, and holidays
  • Experience in oral and written communications in a concise and timely manner

Nice To Haves

  • 3-5 years of Industrial Water Treatment and Purification experience
  • Electrical, PLC, and/or plumbing experience
  • Boiler operator certificate
  • Wastewater certificate
