The Institute for Public School Initiatives (IPSI) is a center within the College of Education at The University of Texas at Austin. In support of the college's mission to address pressing challenges in education and health, IPSI prepares students for academic potential, increases college awareness and success for students and families, and provides high-quality professional learning for educators. This position is fixed-term, with an expected end date of September 30, 2026, and the possibility of renewal. The UT GEAR UP Industry Development and Educational Success (GUIDES 2025) Site Coordinator will help GEAR UP cohort students achieve post-secondary education. Working with middle and high school staff, Coordinators will assist students with academic and college knowledge counseling, mentoring, college admissions, financial aid, and scholarship applications. They will also plan and assist with college awareness activities to meet project objectives. The Site Coordinator will be located regionally in Aldine, TX, providing direct support to students, families, and educators in Aldine ISD. The role requires tact, diplomacy, a strong commitment to service, and the ability to collaborate creatively and effectively to solve problems and reach goals. Excellent organizational and communication skills, including careful listening and persuasive writing and speaking, are essential.
