About The Position

User Support Specialists install and support the various personal computer software and equipment for all divisions of the Health System. Operates computer equipment and provides personal computer hardware and software support for all divisions of the Health System. Responsibilities

  • Actively participates in the technical on-call rotation cycle which includes 24-hour availability, general working knowledge of most systems, ability to make correct judgment decisions, and working knowledge of operational procedures.
  • Adheres to departmental procedures and standard work processes.
  • Administers needed changes to procedure manuals and other documentation.
  • Answers the Information Service Center telephones in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Deploys equipment, installs or upgrades software, and resolves issues with departmental computer systems, peripherals and software.
  • Logs all calls in the Information Service Center database.
  • Provides technical assistance to users and instructs users in proper use and maintenance of personal computers and peripherals.
  • Reports urgent problems to appropriate staff immediately.
  • Tracks and identifies recurring problems and takes corrective action.
  • Works closely with other Information System staff and serves as a technical project resource as assigned.
