Located in Boston’s historic Fenway area, Simmons University has a strong tradition of empowering women and challenging traditional gender roles. Founded 125 years ago, Simmons was one of the first higher education institutions dedicated to helping women become leaders. Today, it offers Boston’s only women’s undergraduate program and graduate programs open to all. The university recently launched a six-school academic structure and emphasizes a high-value education proposition for career growth. The community is mission-driven, preparing students to be social justice-oriented leaders. Simmons values diversity, equity, and inclusion, encouraging applications from all under-represented groups and is committed to inclusive hiring practices. The User Services Librarian, reporting to the Deputy Director and Head of Research and User Services, is responsible for ensuring exceptional frontline service by fostering a patron-centered environment that prioritizes the student experience. This role supports the Library’s essential function in Simmons education by advancing teaching and learning, providing consistent and equitable access to collections, services, and spaces to promote discovery, enrichment, and academic success.
