About The Position

The User Researcher plays a key role in informing product, design, and engineering decisions by bringing a deep understanding of user needs, behaviors, and experiences. Their work supports teams in exploring future ideas, improving existing experiences, evaluating how current experiences are performing, helping to guide prioritization, and identify opportunities for further research. In this role, the User Researcher collaborates closely with product, design, engineering, data, and localization partners to ensure research insights are timely, relevant, and actionable across teams. They gather both qualitative and quantitative insights through methods such as interviews, usability testing, customer satisfaction surveys, and analysis of app store feedback. The User Researcher translates findings into clear insights and recommendations that inform decision-making and drive meaningful improvements. This is a mid-level role that requires a high degree of ownership within the research discipline, with the ability to work independently and apply expertise with minimal oversight, while maintaining a strong collaborative mindset and contributing as a trusted partner to cross-functional teams.

Requirements

  • 4-6 years of experience in user research field.
  • Bachelor’s degree in psychology, human computer interaction, design, or related field.
  • Proven experience working with product teams and conducting research with global audiences.
  • Experience working with a range of research methodologies.
  • End-to-end research proficiency – from planning to presentation.
  • Proficiency with user research and collaboration tools (e.g. – Userlytics, Optimal Workshop, SurveySparrow, Figma/Figjam, Miro, etc.).
  • Establish a reputation with the team and stakeholders as the authority on representing our users backed by insights and data.
  • Excellent communication, storytelling, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively on teams.
  • Strong analytical skills, ability to connect dots and derive themes from complex and nuanced information.
  • Must be self-motivated, proactive, and passionate about our users.

Responsibilities

  • Develop Research Plans & Conduct User Research
  • Collaborate closely with the product team to align on research goals, outcomes, and align on research questions.
  • Recommend the most appropriate research methods and tools that will help meet the team’s goals, timelines, and desired insights.
  • Identify and recruit participants and number of participants that will most appropriately help the team gain valuable insight into the questions being asked and sought out.
  • Lead and conduct research studies across different stages of the product lifecycle using up-to-date methodologies, tools, and with statistical significance.
  • Recommend, create, monitor, and update customer satisfaction surveys.
  • Responsible for the management and deliverables of new and current research vendors.
  • Analysis and Insights
  • Clarify and identify patterns of thought, words, needs, or other behaviors that will help inform product decisions from conducted user research.
  • Create research artifacts (e.g. – weekly/monthly reports, research project findings, executive summaries, presentations, opportunity maps, etc.) that can be shared among the product team or internal stakeholders.
  • Inform direction and connect insights to product team and organizational goals and identify areas of opportunity.
  • Present findings in clear and compelling ways using storytelling, graphics, and data visualization.
  • Conduct ongoing CSAT surveys across platforms and provide insights, monitor changes and communicate findings to broader team.
  • Advocate for Users
  • The User Researcher will be conducting research with individuals around the globe to ensure they are representing a variety of people groups viewpoints.
  • Bring valuable insights, point of view, and discussion topics to product team, client, and stakeholder meetings.
  • Represent the diversity of our users (by platform and locale) during product team, client, and stakeholder discussion.
  • Triangulate customer voice across app store reviews, CSAT responses, user feedback, social media and customer support tickets
