About The Position

At DoorDash, we serve a diverse audience of Merchants, Dashers, and Customers. Success to us means influencing product and company strategy, while building amazing experiences for all of these audiences. These experiences often stem from insights that the Research team brings to the table. You will help guide the company to bigger and bolder new bets. Your scope will be broad and your autonomy will be high. The Research team is looking for a researcher who will proactively shape insights and innovation with the DoorDash Commerce Platform team. You will work across several of our white-label, B2B2C businesses, which include Online Ordering and Drive (white-label delivery). Your work will span from understanding how Merchants make decisions about which white-label solution to adopt, and their growth goals using those products, as well as understanding how Consumers interact with those products, and the nuances of how Dashers deliver orders placed on those platforms. You will be responsible for executing high-velocity research, working with Designers, Product Managers, Strategy and Operations folks, and other cross-functional partners to iteratively test existing products and upcoming innovations, ensuring that each launch meets users' expectations. You will help the team balance the needs of Merchants, Consumers, and Dashers, as well as the goals of DoorDash as a business. You will report directly to the Head of Merchant Research within our Product & Design organization. This role is hybrid, at least 1 day a week working from one of our Design hubs in Seattle, San Francisco, Sunnyvale, or New York.

Requirements

  • You have 5+ years of demonstrable experience in qualitative / quantitative research and/or product, UX, or user research, including writing and analyzing surveys.
  • You can execute on a wide range of research questions, identify appropriate methods, execute studies, and synthesize findings.
  • You can proactively work with several functions across the company.
  • You are passionate about translating findings into creative and strategic recommendations.
  • You excel in a dynamic environment.
  • You have an advanced degree in Human Computer Interaction (HCI), Cognitive or Experimental Psychology, Sociology, Anthropology or a related research or scientific field (While this is preferred, it is not required).
