SUMMARY This person will be responsible for inspecting, diagnosing, and repairing dealer purchased vehicles, assisting the main shop technicians with overflow, as well as performing new vehicle delivery inspections. Areas of expertise include, but are not limited to, engine, transmission, driveability, cooling system, brake system, electronics, steering, and suspension, and HVAC.

Requirements

  • High School diploma
  • Strong teamwork skills
  • Valid automobile insurance
  • Must have a valid driver’s license
  • Ability to read and comprehend written instructions and information
  • Knowledge in all aspects of automotive repair and maintenance
  • Ability to identify problems efficiently and accurately
  • Ability to learn new technology, repair and service procedures and specifications

Nice To Haves

  • ASE certification preferred
  • GM training/repair experience preferred

Responsibilities

  • Performs work specified on the repair order with efficiency and in accordance with dealership standards
  • Tests components and systems using diagnostic tools and special service equipment
  • Diagnoses, maintains, and repairs vehicle automotive systems including engine, transmission, electrical steering, suspension, brakes, air conditioning
  • Communicates directly with the Service Manager so that can be informed if any additional service is needed.
  • Provide an estimate of time needed for additional repairs
  • Keep a great attitude
  • Keep your area and the customer cars clean
  • Assist with main shop work overflow
  • Assist with completing new vehicle prep. (PDI)
