Cavender Toyota is currently looking for a talented Used Vehicle Buyer / Scanner to join our growing team. Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED (required)
- Valid Driver’s License
- Ability to pass MVR, background check, and pre-employment drug screen
- Solid understanding of vehicle makes, models, and basic mechanical terminology
- Mechanical aptitude (formal technical experience helpful but not required)
- Strong attention to detail
- Comfortable working with technology and at a computer for extended periods
- Ability to multitask and manage bursts of activity
- Ability to walk and stand for extended periods
Nice To Haves
- Experience working on your own vehicle or project cars is a plus
Responsibilities
- Become a vehicle inventory expert — understand makes, models, trims, packages, and current technology
- Conduct thorough vehicle inspections for wear, damage, prior repairs, or structural concerns
- Complete accurate digital condition reports using company-provided technology
- Capture and input data precisely using mobile devices and software platforms
- Source used vehicle inventory through auctions, dealer visits, in-store appraisals, and company sourcing tools
- Follow purchasing processes to meet inventory and buying goals
- Make financially sound buying decisions that support company profitability
- Maintain strong market and industry knowledge to stay competitive
