About The Position

Stevinson Lexus of Lakewood is seeking a Mechanic/Internal Technician to join their service team. This role offers compensation between $20.00-$35.00 per flat-rate hour, based on certifications, experience, and efficiency bonuses. New hires are eligible for a sign-on bonus of up to $10,000. The position functions as an experienced technician capable of performing diagnoses and repairs on all vehicle makes and models and components with minimal supervision, and requires previous experience as a C-Class general service technician.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or General Education degree (GED) in addition to 2+ years related experience and/or training.
  • Must be able to pass pre-employment screening (background and drug).
  • Must be at least eighteen years of age.
  • Previously worked as a C-Class general service technician.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous Lexus dealership experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Competently perform a thorough multipoint inspection on all makes and models.
  • Diagnose and communicate specified inspection requirements and recommendations as identified by the pre-owned department based on the inspection requirements.
  • Road test all vehicles as part of the diagnosis / inspection process.
  • Perform work as outlined on repair order with efficiency and accuracy, in accordance with dealership and factory standards.
  • Ensure proper repair order documentation, including complaint, cause, and correction noted on every repair order with punch time for each operation.
  • Review job status frequently, logging status and reporting any change in time or cost estimates to the appropriate service advisor and/or customer.
  • Maintain an organized work in process through the dealership software system.
  • Prepare estimates when required.
  • Diagnose cause of most malfunctions and perform repair.
  • Communicate with parts department to obtain needed parts.
  • Communicate with internal service advisor/pre-owned manager/service management immediately if additional work is needed, if work outlined is not needed, or if repairs cannot be completed within the promised time.
  • Document all work performed and recommended on the repair order.
  • Perform a quality multipoint inspection on every vehicle to include supporting documentation; i.e. photos/video.
  • Participate in manufacturer-sponsored training programs, schools, and events.
