About The Position

Internship Position Overview: The USA Wheelchair Football League (USAWFL) Intern provides the opportunity to learn about sport development and athletic league leadership. The USAWFL is the first of its kind football league for adults with disabilities to reach their highest potential by bringing together highly trained coaches and passionate athletes. The USAWFL builds skills and allows athletes to excel both on and off the field through competition, teamwork, dedication, and resilience. The internship involves supporting a wide variety of event and program logistics. The USAWFL reports to the USAWFL Program Manager. Support USA Wheelchair Football League programs (clinic and tournament logistics including marketing, registration, travel support, inventory management and purchasing, facility management and ops, and sponsor activation) Support league growth efforts by tracking new trends in adaptive sport as well as football and keeping track of potential expansion team leads Travel to and support events as required including driving multi-passenger vans (may include weekends) Assist with Move United database entries and online registration system Answer phone and email general inquires Maintain event registration websites Shipping and mailing, including large or heavy boxes Assist other Move United staff with projects, as assigned Internship periods : Mid-July/early August - November 30, 2026 Office Hours: Monday-Friday 8:30 am - 5:30 pmEST (minimum 30 hrs/week with flexible hours to accommodate differing time zones available) This internship is remote. Must be available to travel the following weekends for tournaments: August 22-23 - Chicago, IL September 11-13 - Phoenix, AZ October 3-4 - Atlanta, GA October 31-November 1 - Dallas, TX Move United seeks interns who have the following qualities: Self-motivation Initiative Flexibility Ability to multi-task and stay organized Ability to work well in a team environment Effective communicator - comfortable using a range of platforms

Requirements

  • Enrolled in or completed college/university
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Publisher, PowerPoint) and the ability to use general office equipment
  • Authorized to work in the U.S.
  • Availability to travel within the U.S. (air and ground)
  • Complete a background screening
  • Complete any training required for the internship
  • Maintain weekly meetings with the supervisor
  • Participate in a mid and end of internship review
  • Be responsible for completing necessary paperwork, if seeking college credits
