Requirements

  • You hold a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in UX Design, Interaction Design, Human Factors Engineering, Human-Technology Interaction, Cognitive Science, Industrial Design Engineering, or a related field.
  • You bring a minimum of 5+ years of experience in usability engineering, UX design, usability testing, or an equivalent role.
  • You must be able to successfully perform the following minimum Physical, Cognitive and Environmental job requirements with or without accommodation for this position.
  • US work authorization is a precondition of employment. The company will not consider candidates who require sponsorship for a work-authorized visa, now or in the future.
  • For this position, you must reside in or within commuting distance to Cambridge, MA.

Responsibilities

  • Define and execute the usability engineering approach across product development, including creation of usability engineering plans.
  • Coordinate required activities and resources to ensure usability is embedded throughout all design and development phases.
  • Conduct user research and develop use scenarios, task analyses, and workflows.
  • Evaluate cognitive, physical, and situational use contexts using a systems-thinking approach to inform intuitive, safe, and efficient user experiences.
  • Plan, conduct, and document formative and summative usability studies in compliance with applicable privacy and usability standards.
  • Manage study logistics, participant recruitment, informed consent, and site requirements.
  • Perform usability risk analyses to identify, document, and mitigate potential use errors.
  • Analyze post-market feedback and data to prioritize usability improvements and enhance user satisfaction.
  • Compile Human Factors Engineering (HFE) reports and usability documentation to support regulatory submissions.
  • Communicate usability findings and recommendations to cross-functional teams including R&D, Clinical, UI/UX, and Systems Engineering.
