Vaccines is the only place in Pfizer where you can contribute to patients in a way like no other – you can prevent sickness and disease. This purpose is at the heart of what drives us every day. This 12‑month secondment role is a maternity leave cover and will be accountable for shaping and driving the U.S. strategy for providing protection against Lyme disease during a critical pre‑approval and pre‑launch period. The role will provide strategic leadership and continuity for the Lyme vaccine program through key milestones leading up to anticipated FDA approval. Lyme disease is a systemic infection caused by Borrelia burgdorferi bacteria transmitted to humans by the bite of infected Ixodes ticks. It is considered the most common vector‑borne illness in the Northern Hemisphere. Early symptoms (such as erythema migrans or nonspecific symptoms including fatigue, fever, headache, and muscle or joint pain) are often overlooked or misinterpreted. If left untreated, Lyme disease can disseminate and result in serious chronic complications affecting the joints, heart, nervous system, or skin. Preventive measures remain limited in effectiveness and adherence, and no vaccine is currently available. As the geographic footprint of Lyme disease continues to expand, the medical need for vaccination is steadily increasing. LB6V is currently in Phase 3 development for the prevention of Lyme disease in individuals 5 years of age and older. With expected FDA approval in the first half of 2027, a U.S. marketing team for LB6V has been established to advance critical pre‑launch activities. This secondment will play a key role in ensuring strategic progress, alignment, and execution during this pivotal period.
