ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Field Operations & Management Grower Relations: Selecting and managing relationships with seed growers, developing acreage contracts, and managing area managers to maximize quality and yields. Production Oversight: Oversee field activities, including site selection, planting, pollination, field maintenance, and water management. Logistics and Equipment: Manage the movement of seed from field to facility, coordinating across the business to ensure growers and truckers are prepared and in place ensuring timeliness and scheduling with manufacturing and drying/storage facilities Harvest Coordination: Lead and schedule harvest operations, ensuring proper seed handling to avoid mechanical damage. Quality & Safety Compliance Champions a safety-first culture and ensures compliance with environmental, health, safety (EHS), and quality standards. Implementing Quality Management Systems (QMS) and ensuring quality is 2 nd only to safety in everything we do. Team Development Coaches, mentors and develops full time agronomist team fostering a culture of accountability. Develops resourcing strategy in conjunction with other production leaders to assure efficiency in utilizing headcount and seasonal labor across the production and foundation teams Performance Management (KPIs) Monitors and reports on Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) such as efficiency, quality, safety, waste, and cost field production. Champions and leads implementation around production portions of sales and operational planning and execution processes to ensure on time delivery of quality product. Utilizes, develops and champions SAP ensuring our ERP system is correct across daily use as well as periodic internal and external auditing Managing budgets and looking for cost efficiencies across growing, harvesting, drying, storage, and logistics Change and Innovation Champion Champions and leads field production portions of sales and operational planning and execution as the main driver of business processes Implements standardized processes, procedures, and best practices across regions to drive efficiency and reduce waste. Has a continuous improvement mindset in all aspects of daily work, looking for ways to improve efficiency across the production landscape leading to increased profitability for the overall company. QUALIFICATIONS: Strong analytical, problem-solving and leadership skills Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skills Proficient in computer applications, including SAP and Microsoft Office. Strong organizational and record-keeping skills to ensure accuracy and compliance. Highly organized with exceptional attention to detail. EDUCATION: Bachelor’s degree in Agronomy, Agribusiness, operations management, or other related field EXPERIENCE: 5+ years of progressive manufacturing leadership experience, with proven experience in multi-site management. Leadership skills: Proven ability to lead, influence, and manage large, dispersed teams. Technical Knowledge: Agronomic Expertise, understanding of plant biology, pollination and seed development, along with computer skills including field management software and SAP systems.
