US ABF Analyst/Associate

About The Position

KKR is seeking an experienced, analytical investment professional at the Analyst or Associate level to join its ABF team in New York. The successful candidate will engage in the full investment lifecycle, supporting diligence and execution across complex commercial ABF investments. The team invests across multiple pools of capital including opportunistic and High Grade ABF. This flexible mandate allows the team to invest at scale across the capital structure wherever the risk adjusted returns are most attractive, including control equity in specialty finance platforms, preferred or structured junior capital, secured debt financings, levered or unlevered portfolios of commercial ABF assets, and other bespoke structured and asset-backed opportunities. The successful candidate will be working in small and nimble deal teams and will play an integral role in the development, structuring, and execution of transactions, participating in internal meetings, negotiations, and due diligence sessions, and gaining hands-on experience and exposure to critical decision-making processes. Requirements

  • 2-5 years of relevant experience in investment banking or investing
  • Experience in financial services and/or specialty finance-specific experience
  • Proficient in financial modeling and analysis
  • Critical thinker with strong quantitative and analytical skills who expresses their thoughts and ideas clearly both in oral and written communications
  • Collaborative thinker who can also work independently, multitask, and prioritize competing demands to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • High level of motivation, attention to detail, and a strong desire to learn and grow
  • Requires a BA or BSc degree

Responsibilities

  • Perform due diligence on prospective investments within the specialty finance and ABF space, including meeting with management teams, doing deep dives on the business, industry/strategy research, financial modeling, and preparing investment materials
  • Conduct in-depth financial modeling, valuation, and sensitivity analyses across the capital structure to assess investment prospects
  • Analyze industry trends and competitive dynamics to inform strategic decision-making
  • Conduct interviews with industry experts and management teams to gather insights and validate investment assumptions
  • Draft clear and concise investment memoranda for internal and external stakeholders
  • Coordinate with legal, tax, and other advisors on transaction execution
  • Work with portfolio companies on strategic initiatives, financial performance tracking, and operational improvements
  • Provide overall support to the investment team, contributing to various projects and initiatives as needed
