About The Position

Summary of Essential Functions In conjunction with URPG Practice manager, directly oversees and coordinates the daily activities of the assigned practice(s). Monitors compliance of policies and procedures as necessary to ensure high-quality patient care. The coordinator monitors patient flow to optimize patient experience and to ensure appropriate staff coverage. The coordinator is a working coordinator who performs clinical functions as required. Knowledgeable of policies and procedures, regulatory standards and HIPPA Privacy Practices as related to the physician group practice. Performs, organizes and delegates routine coordination of functions within the practice. Meets deadlines with prompt, thorough approach, with ability to prioritize various requests and complete duties as required. Works with staff and management on all new changes to ensure proper knowledge of the functions required. Develops and fosters a collaborative working relationship with physicians/advance practice providers and URPG leadership. The duties of this position are not limited to this list and can be changed when deemed necessary.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
  • Must be able to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.
  • Registered with the Board of Nursing for the State of Texas as LVN or RN
  • Experience in an outpatient practice preferred.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and courteously.
  • Demonstrate patience, tact, diplomacy and persistence in daily contact with all customers.
  • Performs effectively under stress to meet deadlines.
  • Must have the ability to organize, prioritize work according to written or verbal instructions using organizational skills and sound judgment.
  • Ability to listen and display professionalism and confidentiality.
  • Requires eye-hand coordination and manual dexterity.
  • Requires corrected vision and hearing to normal range.
  • Must distinguish the difference between numbers and symbols.
  • May require some lifting up to 25 pounds.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous supervisory experience in physician practice is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Administratively responsible for the overall operation of the assigned practice(s).
  • Coordinates and supervises the daily activities of and assigns work to URPG clinical staff to ensure proper coverage.
  • Ensures that highest possible customer service is delivered to both internal and external customers.
  • Proactively approaches dissatisfied customers and implements customer service recovery measures to satisfy displeased customers.
  • Plan and schedule work for the group ensuring proper distribution of assignments and adequate manning.
  • Coordinates staffing schedules and approves/denies time-off requests according to guidelines and assist with payroll entry.
  • Shares on call weekend manager duties and provides staffing coverage as needed.
  • Coordinates and administers staff orientation and training.
  • Ensures that staff is trained on work processes and are cross-trained; coordinates cross coverage between and across practice sites in conjunction with Operational manager.
  • In collaboration with the practice manager may performs staff performance reviews and corrective action plans.
  • Is responsible for troubleshooting problems and addressing in a timely manner, monitoring, and coordinating activities as provided by Manager and/or Director.
  • Assures and monitors compliance with regulatory standards (i.e., AAAHC, OSHA, etc.) and United Regional and URPG policies and procedures.
  • Demonstrates a high level of flexibility, commitment and availability to the department needs.
  • Completes special assignments completely in a timely manner.
  • Is quick to assist with needed projects/special circumstances.
  • Collaborates with other URPG management personnel to ensure effective management of assigned practice(s).
  • Performs all other tasks/responsibilities as necessary.
