About The Position
Stopwatch Urgent Care is hiring a full-time Urgent Care Physician at their Auburn clinic, located in a vibrant college city in east-central Alabama. The role offers a rotating 3-4 schedule (three 12-hour shifts one week, four the next), competitive compensation, no on-call duties, and a benefits package recognized as a Top 10 program nationally among private urgent care organizations. The physician will serve as the primary on-site physician, independently managing acute and episodic care in a fast-paced urgent care setting. Support is provided through established clinical protocols, a dedicated clinic support team, and direct access to clinical leadership and network resources. Onboarding includes a structured clinical orientation. Stopwatch Urgent Care is part of a growing network of over 40 clinics across North Carolina, South Carolina, Alabama, and Missouri, providing a stable, well-resourced practice environment with the infrastructure and flexibility for a long-term career within a multi-state network.
Requirements
- Licensed MD or DO in Alabama, or eligible for licensure
- Board certified or board eligible in Family Medicine, Emergency Medicine, or Internal Medicine
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications
- Strong clinical judgment, communication skills, and a patient-centered approach to care
Nice To Haves
- Urgent care, emergency medicine, or primary care experience preferred
Responsibilities
- Assess, diagnose, and treat patients presenting with acute and episodic conditions.
- Perform common urgent care procedures, including laceration repair, abscess drainage, splinting, wound care, and DOT physicals.
- Order, review, and interpret diagnostic testing, including in-house labs and imaging.
- Prescribe medications appropriately and provide patient education on treatment plans, follow-up care, and preventive health.
- Document encounters thoroughly and accurately in the electronic medical record.
- Collaborate with clinic staff to maintain efficient patient flow, quality outcomes, and a strong patient experience.
