About The Position

Stopwatch Urgent Care is hiring a full-time Urgent Care Physician at our Phenix City clinic. Phenix City is located on the Alabama-Georgia border across from Columbus, GA, offering affordable living with access to a larger metro area. You will be the primary physician on-site, managing acute and episodic care independently in a fast-paced urgent care setting. You are supported by established clinical protocols, a dedicated clinic support team, and direct access to clinical leadership and network resources. Onboarding includes a structured clinical orientation designed to set you up for success from day one. Stopwatch Urgent Care is part of a growing network of 40+ clinics across North Carolina, South Carolina, Alabama, and Missouri. The organization offers physicians a stable, well-resourced practice environment with the infrastructure and flexibility to build a long-term career within a multi-state network.

Requirements

  • Licensed MD or DO in Alabama, or eligible for licensure
  • Board certified or board eligible in Family Medicine, Emergency Medicine, or Internal Medicine
  • Current BLS and ACLS certifications
  • Strong clinical judgment, communication skills, and a patient-centered approach to care

Nice To Haves

  • Urgent care, emergency medicine, or primary care experience preferred

Responsibilities

  • Assess, diagnose, and treat patients presenting with acute and episodic conditions.
  • Perform common urgent care procedures, including laceration repair, abscess drainage, splinting, wound care, and DOT physicals.
  • Order, review, and interpret diagnostic testing, including in-house labs and imaging.
  • Prescribe medications appropriately and provide patient education on treatment plans, follow-up care, and preventive health.
  • Document encounters thoroughly and accurately in the electronic medical record.
  • Collaborate with clinic staff to maintain efficient patient flow, quality outcomes, and a strong patient experience.
