Position Summary: Laurel School is seeking a licensed school psychologist to support the academic, social, and emotional well-being of our students for the upcoming 2026-2027 academic year. This person would be responsible for working with students in our Upper School and would be an integral member of the student support team. The ideal candidate will work collaboratively with educators, parents, outside mental health providers, and support staff to assess student's needs, develop intervention strategies, and provide short-term counseling services. We are open to discussing part-time or flexible scheduling options.

Requirements

  • Master’s or Doctoral degree in School Psychology or related field.
  • Must hold a valid Ohio School Psychologist license
  • Experience in a school setting preferred.
  • Strong communication, problem-solving, and collaboration skills; ability to work with diverse student populations.

Responsibilities

  • Provide short-term individual and group counseling for students to address social-emotional and behavioral concerns.
  • Develop and implement behavioral and academic intervention strategies.
  • Collaborate with teachers and staff to support students with learning differences and mental health challenges.
  • Interpret and analyze assessment results to guide educational planning and interventions.
  • Participate in eligibility determination meetings for special education services.
  • Collaborate with local school districts to help families through the evaluation process (including attending ETR and IEP meetings)
  • Work with the school learning strategist to ensure student learning plans are being followed and updated annually
  • Coordinate learning support with teachers and outside tutors/interventionists for students in EC-12 (as needed)
  • Assist in developing and implementing school-wide crisis response plans.
  • Provide crisis intervention services and support for students and staff, including after-school hours as needed.
  • Administer assessment tools and interpret results
  • Collaborate with psychologists, learning interventionists, faculty, parents, and outside mental health providers
  • Participate in faculty and staff meetings
  • Communicate effectively through in-person meetings, timely emails, and voice or Zoom calls with varied school constituencies and parents
  • Support divisional and school-wide initiatives, including events hosted by Laurel’s Center for Research for Girls
  • Instruct and develop seminar programming focused on social-emotional learning and incorporating Ohio State wellness standards
