About The Position

Upper School Fine Arts (Band/Orchestra/Ensemble/Digital Music) Fort Worth Country Day is seeking an enthusiastic, student-centered educator who loves music and is eager to join a vibrant Upper School community. Reporting to the Head of Upper School, this dynamic, highly qualified, and approachable teacher will serve as both a member of the Upper School of the Fine Arts department and an advisor, beginning in August 2026. Our ideal candidate is a skilled and reflective music educator who builds strong relationships with students and designs learning experiences that develop technical musicianship and the habits of collaboration. The successful candidate will be excited to teach across a range of offerings, including Upper School band, orchestra, a small ensemble aligned with their particular strengths (such as jazz band, percussion ensemble, marimba, steel pan, chamber music, etc.), and potentially design and launch an inaugural Digital Music Composition and Production course based on student interest. The ideal candidate brings strong pedagogical practice and musicianship to their teaching while remaining curious, flexible, and open to innovation. They are comfortable working with evolving repertoire and contemporary tools for composition, production, and performance. Experience with digital audio workstations, music technology, or composition software is highly valued, as is interest in building curriculum from the ground up and thoughtfully integrating emerging technologies, including AI, to support student creativity and musical understanding. Beyond the classroom, we seek educators who are eager to participate in the broader life of the school in ways that are sustainable and balanced. Our teachers enjoy working with teenagers, bring warmth, optimism, and professionalism to their work, and thrive in a collegial environment where collaboration, reflection, and shared purpose are central. If Fort Worth Country Day sounds like a place where you can grow as an educator and musician while making a meaningful impact on students, we encourage you to apply.
