About The Position

The Upper School English Teacher will facilitate a vibrant, relevant, and challenging English program. The Teacher will provide opportunities to acquire English knowledge and skills and to ignite a passion for English. As an advisor, the Upper School English Teacher will commit to knowing their advisees and advisee families well. With this foundation, the advisor will serve as the nexus of communication between home and school, promote social-emotional development, and offer appropriate guidance and care for members of their advisory group. In addition to core English teaching responsibilities, this role includes leading the school’s Journalism and Yearbook programs. The teacher will guide students in developing strong reporting, writing, and editing skills while overseeing the full publication cycle of student-produced media. This includes managing deadlines, coordinating with contributors, and cultivating a collaborative, student‑centered newsroom and yearbook environment. As an advisor, the Upper School English Teacher will commit to knowing their advisees and advisee families well.
