Upper School English and Journalism Teacher
About The Position
The Upper School English Teacher will facilitate a vibrant, relevant, and challenging English program, providing opportunities to acquire English knowledge and skills and to ignite a passion for English. In addition to core English teaching responsibilities, this role includes leading the school’s Journalism and Yearbook programs. The teacher will guide students in developing strong reporting, writing, and editing skills while overseeing the full publication cycle of student-produced media. As an advisor, the Upper School English Teacher will commit to knowing their advisees and advisee families well, serving as the nexus of communication between home and school, promoting social-emotional development, and offering appropriate guidance and care for members of their advisory group.
Responsibilities

- Lead the school’s Journalism program

- Oversee the full publication cycle of student-produced media
- Manage deadlines for student-produced media
- Coordinate with contributors for student-produced media
- Cultivate a collaborative, student-centered newsroom and yearbook environment
