About The Position
Greenville Montessori School - 822 Laurie Ellis Rd, Greenville, NC - is seeking an enthusiastic and dynamic Band Director to lead our Upper Elementary band program. As our Band Director, you will: Lead our vibrant band of 5th and 6th grade students in how to play and care for their instruments, read music, understand music theory, and perform as a group. Inspire teamwork, confidence, and musical expression. Showcase student talent and achievements through band performances at school community events. Collaborate with dedicated educators to ensure a holistic learning experience for every child. Make a lasting impact on students' musical and personal development, helping them cultivate a deep appreciation for music.
Requirements
- Enthusiasm for music education and experience leading young musicians.
- Experience with leading band ensembles, preferably for students in grades 5-6.
- Strong interpersonal skills that promote cooperation, self-discipline, and respect.
- A collaborative mindset and the ability to contribute to a supportive educational community.
Nice To Haves
- Experience teaching in a Montessori or similar educational environment.
- Strong knowledge of music theory, performance techniques, and band ensemble management.
