Unpaid Broadcast Reporting Intern (Spring)
About The Position
WGHP-TV, the FOX affiliate serving the Piedmont-Triad, is offering a highly competitive reporter internship for motivated, talented students who want to learn how to tell powerful, local stories on television and digital platforms. We're looking for one standout candidate who demonstrates curiosity, drive, and professionalism. This is an opportunity to learn from award-winning journalists and walk away with stories to help improve your resume reel outstanding reel. What You'll Learn: How to find, research, and pitch enterprise story ideas How to polish your on-air presentation How to write, shoot, and edit compelling reporter packages How to conduct strong interviews and develop sources How to report and write for digital and social platforms How a professional newsroom operates under daily deadlines
Requirements
- This internship is open only to seniors graduating in the spring
- Must be able to commit to 16-24 hours a week
- Must have reliable transportation to our station in High Point
- Must have an on-air resume reel submitted with your application. If you do not send a reel, you will not be considered
- Strong writing and communication skills
- Willingness to work collaboratively and take feedback
