About The Position

WAVY-TV 10/ WVBT FOX43 is searching for a dynamic BROADCAST ENGINEERING INTERN who wants to work closely with IT and engineering staff to maintain broadcast systems, identify problems, assist in resolving rapidly to maintain highest levels of transmission reliability for the station; participate in installation, testing, commissioning of new services and software: troubleshoot TVU live packs and live capabilities (ENG and SAT trucks). This is an UNPAID / FOR-CREDIT position for the summer semester 2026 only. We are looking for someone who is studying communications, engineering, or equivalent courses, and has an interest in broadcast engineering and live broadcast technologies, and/or an interest in design, construction, and operation of complex broadcast systems. The intern could work on various broadcast technology projects from IT to Livepacks, equipment repair, news studio equipment basics, digital streaming set up and more. I nclude relevant coursework in resume/application. The successful candidate must have a willingness to learn the inner workings of a local newsroom and how all departments in a TV station work to support each other. Before beginning, the intern must be enrolled in a college degree granting program, and will be required to show proof of enrollment in an internship course within that program. 12-15 hours per week on site. Ability to work Monday through Friday are required ; days and times will vary and be set in agreement with supervisor.

Requirements
