The University of New Mexico Press seeks a Business Manager to join the premier publisher of academic, regional, literary, and trade books in the state of New Mexico, and one of the oldest and largest university presses in the West. The Business Manager serves as a strategic partner to the Press Director and manages day-to-day UNM Press accounting, budgeting, royalties processing, and financial reporting. This role oversees the Business accounting team. As a part of Press leadership, the Business Manager will serve as a member of the Press management team and will participate in strategic decision-making and long-range financial planning. The Business Manager is a principal liaison with university finance and accounting and a principal liaison with the Press’s distribution partner, Simon & Schuster. The Business Manager will provide business intelligence and data analysis to support the Press’s growth and financial well-being. UNM Press prefers management roles to be on-site on a hybrid basis; however, remote options will be considered for the right candidate. Founded in 1929, UNM Press is one of the oldest and largest university presses in the West. The Press publishes original and groundbreaking scholarship in the fields of anthropology and archaeology, Native studies, Chicana/o studies, literary criticism, Latin American studies, and US Western History. We publish trade books and series related to New Mexico and the Southwest, including fiction, poetry, cookbooks, guidebooks, history and biography, especially works from underrepresented voices of the region. And we publish books and authors with Western roots and national and international resonance through our trade imprint High Road Books. UNM is a Tier I Research Institution.
