About The Position

Under the general direction of the Associate Registrar, the University Scheduling Analyst performs specialized and complex technical work in university scheduling and space utilization. This position serves as the functional subject matter expert on systems that support academic and event scheduling at the University. The incumbent works closely with academic and administrative departments, providing software training as well as guidance on campus policies and procedures. The incumbent has a strong understanding of databases and can perform analysis to identify trends, make projections, and enable informed decision-making. Data stewardship (creating, maintaining, and auditing) in this position is a critical responsibility because it has a far-reaching impact on campus, from students registering for classes to optimizing the use of campus locations for instructional, academic support, and co-curricular activities. The incumbent prioritizes day-to-day responsibilities with long-term projects in a deadline driven environment. The University Scheduling Analyst will work in partnership with office staff to support needs of faculty, staff, and students at the Solano campus. Within the Strategic Enrollment Management Division, the Office of the Registrar serves the entire campus community and its alumni. It is the official custodian of the student academic record from the point of matriculation, progressing through the evaluation of transfer credit, registration, program and enrollment changes, verification of enrollment activity, degree verification and posting, processing of diplomas, graduation certification, and transcript production. The Office of the Registrar is also responsible for assisting the University with the development, implementation, and maintenance of curricular policies and procedures, production and maintenance of the university catalog, development and publication of articulation agreements, and administration of university-wide scheduling which is comprised of academic scheduling, block scheduling and master calendar (also known as event scheduling).

Requirements

  • Demonstrated ability to independently and efficiently perform detailed work with a high degree of accuracy in a high-volume, deadline-driven environment.
  • Expertise in investigating and analyzing problems with a broad administrative impact and implications.
  • Ability to anticipate problems and address them proactively.
  • Ability to review, analyze, interpret, communicate, and apply policy and standards including Campus Administrative Policies (CAP), University academic policies, Academic Senate resolutions, and CSU Executive Orders.
  • Demonstrated ability to use sound judgment when interpreting policy or recommending new policies.
  • Working knowledge of administrative concepts, practices and procedures to research, develop and evaluate policies and programs, including collection, evaluation and interpretation of data and information from a wide variety of sources to develop sound conclusions and make appropriate recommendations.
  • Equivalent to graduation from a four-year college or university.
  • Three years of technical or administrative experience.
