About The Position
The University Police Officer works under general supervision and is responsible for the enforcement of traffic and criminal laws, parking regulations, accident and criminal investigation and/or serving in a supervisory or lead capacity in the public safety operation at UAM, and other duties as assigned. The position is governed by law enforcement standards and institution policy.
Requirements
- Minimum qualifications include the formal education equivalent of a high school diploma.
- Must possess valid state motor vehicle operator’s license.
- Must be certified or be able to become certified within one year of employment by the Arkansas Law Enforcement Certification Training in accordance with ACA 12-9-106, or an approved law enforcement training academy.
- Must have certification or be properly authorized to carry a weapon for law enforcement duties.
- Must be able to pass drug test prior to employment.
