About The Position

The University Animal Research Operations Analyst serves as a senior analytical and strategic support role for the institution’s animal research program, with responsibility for evaluating and improving the operational, financial, and compliance-related performance of a highly regulated research enterprise. This position provides advanced analysis of workflows, staffing and financial models, facility utilization, and regulatory impacts to support efficient, sustainable, and compliant animal research operations while upholding the highest standards of animal welfare. Operating with a high degree of independence, the Analyst synthesizes complex data from multiple functional areas and translates findings into actionable recommendations for senior leadership. The role partners closely with veterinary leadership, research administration, compliance offices ( IACUC , EH&S), facilities, and finance to inform strategic planning, resource allocation, and long-term program sustainability across the institution.

Requirements

  • Advanced analytical and quantitative skills, including the ability to analyze complex, multi-source datasets and develop meaningful performance metrics.
  • Significant progressively responsible experience in operational analysis, program evaluation, or financial analysis within a complex, regulated environment.
  • Demonstrated experience supporting decision-making for leadership through data-driven analysis and recommendations.
  • Strong operational acumen, including understanding of cost drivers, staffing models, and resource utilization.
  • Ability to clearly communicate complex analyses and recommendations to senior leaders and diverse stakeholder groups.
  • Strong project management skills, including the ability to manage multiple initiatives with competing priorities.
  • Ability to work independently, exercise sound judgment, and handle sensitive or confidential information.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with institutional benchmarking, peer analysis, and best-practice assessments.
  • Advanced proficiency with data visualization, financial modeling, or enterprise reporting tools.
  • Experience supporting strategic planning, change management, or enterprise-wide operational improvement initiatives.
