About The Position

Grand Canyon Education (GCE) is a rapidly growing educational service company that provides educational, operational, and technological support services to the post-secondary education sector, working closely with Grand Canyon University (GCU). GCE is seeking a motivated University Admissions Counselor to oversee the Milwaukee, WI Northern territory. This unique opportunity is a work-from-home role based in Milwaukee, WI. The counselor will be responsible for building awareness of academic programs and the campus community, driving inquiry generation, and providing exceptional counseling to prospective students and their families for Grand Canyon University's traditional ground campus in Phoenix, AZ. The role involves extensive community involvement, hosting events, and engaging with community college students, faculty, and staff through various mediums, including in-person interactions, phone calls, emails, texts, and Zoom. The counselor will maintain a full schedule of fairs, school visits, presentations, and community/campus events, acting as the face of Grand Canyon University in their territory and guiding students through the admissions process towards a successful campus experience.

Requirements

• Must live in or near Milwaukee, WI.
• A bachelor’s degree.
• No delinquent or in default on a federal student loan as verified in your credit report (if in a rehabilitation program, your credit report must reflect that you are current, not delinquent, on your payments).
• Outstanding time management and organization skills.
• Clear communication and engaging presentation skills (comfortable communicating in person, in writing and on the phone, confident to engage any room while presenting).
• Well developed listening skills.
• Self-motivation and drive to succeed (volunteer for new challenges, go above and beyond).
• High emotional intelligence and ability to demonstrate empathy.
• A valid driver's license.
• Reliable transportation.
• A flexible schedule and willingness to travel extensively in your territory.
• Clean driving record and ability to use your personal vehicle.
• Computer literacy.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the Milwaukee, WI Northern territory.
• Be involved in the community through hosting and implementing event/activity plans for your territory that build awareness of our academic programs and campus community and drive inquiry generation.
• Provide exceptional counseling to prospective students and their families through a variety of mediums (in-person, over the phone, via email, text or Zoom).
• Champion the GCE mission, promoting Grand Canyon University student success and institutional growth.
• Connect with community college students, faculty and staff in local community colleges and engage all major stakeholders in your territory.
• Maintain a full schedule that includes fairs, school visits, presentations, community/campus events and hosting campus visits.
• Take pride in being the face of Grand Canyon University in your territory and promote its transformation.
• Support prospective Grand Canyon University campus students and families through the admissions process, guiding them on the right path towards a successful campus experience.
