About The Position

Join the CTCU Team! Are you looking for an amazing sales and customer service job with daytime hours, paid holidays, and terrific benefits? Community Trust Credit Union (CTCU) is looking for a Universal Teller with banking experience, customer service, and sales background to work full-time at our Grayslake branch. We are looking for individuals, just like you, to be available Monday through Friday from 7:30 am to 5:45 pm and 8:30 am to 1:30 pm on Saturdays. Our full-time employees usually work about 38 to 40 hours per week. To help us provide the incredible service our members expect, we require our employees to be available to work at any of our locations, including Gurnee, Grayslake, or Lake Villa. The Universal Teller is responsible for assisting members with their financial transactions, including receiving cash and other negotiable instruments, while providing service that meets credit union expectations. This role involves the sales and servicing of all credit union products and services, focusing on building relationships and member loyalty. Basic expectations include receiving, processing, and posting member financial transactions, including deposits, withdrawals, transfers, and loan payments; selling money orders and other merchandise to members while ensuring service levels meet credit union standards. Additionally, the Universal Teller will balance cash drawers, negotiables, and daily transactions, and may assume additional teller functions such as drawer audits, member account maintenance, and vault duties. The position also requires welcoming members at the credit union, answering member phone calls, and speaking with members in an informative, knowledgeable, and helpful manner about CTCU products and services. Responsibilities include establishing new memberships, completing member service paperwork, and initiating loan applications. The Universal Teller is expected to meet or exceed established referral and sales goals, and to discover problems, needs, and opportunities by listening for clues in conversations, asking open-ended questions, completing fact-finding follow-ups, researching member accounts, and assisting with product promotions. This role may also involve assuming additional responsibilities as necessary for the continued growth and advancement of the credit union and individual, along with any other duties as assigned by management.
