As a Universal PRN DSP, you have the opportunity to accept shifts that fit your availability while supporting individuals in multiple residential home settings. This role is ideal for someone who values variety, independence, and stepping in where support is needed most. You will receive training in areas like Medication Administration, MANDT, Hoyer Lift, and Insulin Administration, giving you the skills to support any individual in any home you are assigned to. These trainings also build experience that can help you grow in your career. Important: This is not a single-site position. You must be willing to work at any KenCrest home in the region, across all counties we serve (Bucks, Eastern and Western Montgomery, Chester, and Philadelphia), based on staffing needs. This is a PRN, as-needed position, up to 29 hours per week. Overtime is only permitted in emergencies with approval. To support your success, all newly hired Direct Support Professionals, regardless of full-time, part-time, or other employment status, complete a mandatory two-week paid new employee orientation during their first two weeks of employment. During this time, you will complete important required trainings, including along with other state-required trainings. This orientation helps you understand how KenCrest works and gives you the tools you need to feel confident and prepared in your role. It is required for all DSPs, regardless of prior experience.

Requirements

  • Valid and current driver’s license, reliable transportation, and acceptable driving record
  • High School Diploma or equivalent experience
  • Ability to pass required background checks and clearances
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
  • Clear and professional communication skills

Nice To Haves

  • Minimum 1 year of experience supporting individuals with IDD preferred
  • Experience supporting individuals with strong behaviors is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Support individuals with daily living tasks such as cooking, cleaning, and personal care
  • Administer medications and follow individual support plans
  • Assist with community outings and appointments
  • Complete daily documentation
  • Use our scheduling system to view and accept shifts
  • Work at least 4 shifts per month to remain active
  • Flexibility to travel throughout the region as scheduled
  • Completion of required trainings including CPR, First Aid, and Medication Administration
  • Timely response to scheduling communication
