About The Position

There are 3 levels within the Universal Banker job family with progressive responsibilities and we are looking for a level 1 or 2. Universal Banker I is an entry level position focusing on customer service, processing transactions, and assisting customers with their retail banking needs. Universal Banker 2 is responsible for opening new accounts, providing exceptional customer service, and handling customer needs from service to sales with enthusiasm. Understands and is proficient in performing all Universal Banker I duties.

Responsibilities

  • Provides excellent customer service by processing customer transactions, answers customer inquiries in person, via telephone, or email.
  • Operates drive thru window; maintains acceptable outages; maintains appropriate cash limits; follows policies and procedures to ensure compliance with branch audits.
  • Cross promotes bank products and services by using insights gained about the customer’s needs; follows up on referral opportunities.
  • Assists in performing back-office duties which included completing branch reports, balancing the ATMs, processing night/mail deposits, answering phone calls, filing, and maintains a clean workstation.
  • Opens and closes the branch in a secure manner according to bank procedures.
  • Opens and closes deposit accounts and services with accuracy and in accordance with bank policies and applicable regulations.
  • Processes payoffs and payments for all loan products.
  • Performs all required security procedures for opening customer accounts.
  • Represents the bank in a professional manner.
  • Attends community activities in order to increase brand awareness.
  • Assists the front line tellers with various duties and acts as a backup for Universal Banker II as needed.
  • As needed, escalates customer and service issues to Universal Banker II and III.
  • May float to other bank branches as needed.
  • Complies with all applicable banking laws and regulations, including, but not limited to the Bank Secrecy Act, USA Patriot Act, and related anti-money laundering statutes, and federal consumer protection legislation and regulations.
  • Other Duties as assigned.
  • Provides excellent customer service by processing customer transactions, answers customer inquiries in person, via telephone, or email.
  • Operates lobby teller window; maintains acceptable outages; maintains appropriate cash limits; follows policies and procedures to ensure compliance with branch audits.
  • Cross promotes bank products and services by using insights gained about the customer’s needs; follows up on referral opportunities.
  • Assists in performing back-office duties which included completing branch reports, balancing the ATMs, processing night/mail deposits, answering phone calls, filing, and maintains a clean workstation.
  • Maintains IRA files; filing annual reports and tax information; preparing corrected 1099-INT forms and IRA forms for the IRS.
  • Monitors rate changes, mails proper notices to customers regarding various accounts (CD renewal and maturity checks, etc.) to customers in a timely manner.
  • Prepare, monitor and address report of dormant accounts and safety deposit boxes.
  • Educates customers on product benefits and solutions; makes recommendations based on their identified needs.
  • Assists the drive thru with various duties and acts as a backup for Universal Banker III as needed.
  • As needed, escalates customer and service issues to Universal Banker III.
