About The Position

General Function: Under the supervision of the Charge Nurse or delegate, assists in planning, organizing, implementing and evaluating the activities occurring in the nursing station by performing clerical and receptionist duties and maintaining the physical environment of the area. POSITION SPECIFICATIONS Educational Requirements: High School Education Preferably medical secretarial course. CPR Certification required. Experience Requirements: Training - on the job. Clerical experience helpful but not essential. Computer capabilities. Surgery - Two years Ward Clerk experience. Special Requirements: Legible handwriting. Verbal and written communication skills. JOB RELATED HAZARDS Work requires periods of prolonged sitting. Potential for increased stress levels. May come into contact with communicable diseases, unpleasant odors, and hazardous materials. Potential for exposure to: combative, violent, and abusive patient behaviors.
