About The Position

The Unit Manager oversees the assigned plant unit to help employees achieve plant goals. Responsibilities include scheduling shifts, assessing efficiency, and ensuring employees perform tasks correctly.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, or Mining preferred).
  • 5+ years of operations management experience in manufacturing.
  • Microsoft Office proficiency
  • SAP knowledge
  • OSHA/EPA knowledge
  • ISO 9001 familiarity

Responsibilities

  • Communicate production schedules and product availability to plant administrators.
  • Clearly articulate plant goals to operating personnel and lead goal ownership.
  • Hire, evaluate, and manage personnel; ensure proper training and equipment.
  • Lead cost reduction through yield and throughput improvements.
  • Schedule employees and manage overtime and vacations.
  • Maintain accurate production records and inventory aligned with SAP.
  • Support plant maintenance and preventative maintenance systems.
  • Coach employees for performance and expectations.
  • Improve job safety, productivity, and efficiency.
  • Understand plant equipment, cost budgets, and quality mission.
  • Assist in HR investigations and manage daily production scheduling.
  • Lead employees in Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) efforts.
  • Operate plant safely and in compliance with permits and policies.
  • Promote safety as the number one priority.
  • Ensure compliance with all regulatory and legal requirements.
