About The Position

Are you looking to make a positive impact on the life of a child at camp this summer? You can do that by helping train and develop our summer camp staff team. Share your experience, talents, and passion for camp with the next generation of summer staff so they may impact the life of a child. YMCA Camp Collins is a traditional summer camp located in Gresham, OR along the banks of the Sandy River. Camp Collins serves youth from grades 2-12 and provides activities such as equestrian, challenge course, aquatics, crafts, and much more. Why You Should Apply? · Room and board for the summer · A full three weeks of training will prepare you to be at your best for the youth · At least two hours off each day · Friday evening through Sunday morning off each week · Work with your friends · Make a difference in the life of a child · You do not have to sleep in a cabin with campers What would you be doing? · Ensure the safety, well-being and personal growth of campers. · Support staff daily through coaching and providing feedback · Unit Leaders support staff in planning, organizing and implementing value-based programs for their age group or program area. · Be an active and supportive member of the summer camp team · Demonstrate positive, professional role modeling at all times, acting in a manner that is consistent with the staff code of conduct and the philosophy, goals, and objectives of YMCA Camp Collins · Remain on-site from Sunday morning staff meeting to Friday check-out · Commit to 11+ weeks of work from June 8 to August 26, 2022

Requirements

  • Must pass YMCA background check
  • Possess (or obtain during training) a current CPR/AED & First Aid Certification
  • 20 years or older

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working with youth at summer overnight or day camp program
  • Experience supervising staff
  • Graduate of Counselor in Training Program
  • Possess (or obtain during training) a current certification/qualified experience in Challenge Course Facilitation, Lifeguard, or Horsemanship
