About The Position

Looking for qualified a Unit clerk /Scheduler to join our team! Location: Ghent Health and Rehabilitation of Norfolk Job Type: Full-Time We are seeking a dedicated and organized Unit clerk / Scheduler to join our nursing home team. This essential role is responsible for maintaining the inventory of medical supplies and ensuring staff have the resources needed to provide quality resident care. Major Responsibilities Manage the ordering, receiving, and stocking of medical and non-medical supplies. Maintain accurate inventory records and track supply usage to ensure adequate stock levels. Coordinate with nursing staff to identify supply needs and provide timely replenishment. Verify all incoming shipments for accuracy and quality. Organize supply rooms and ensure supplies are properly labeled and stored. Maintain records of purchase orders, invoices, and supply documentation. Follow infection control guidelines to ensure supplies are handled safely and effectively. Assist in maintaining budget control by monitoring supply usage and reducing waste. Collaborate with vendors to ensure competitive pricing and efficient delivery of supplies. Caring for the personal needs, safety, and comfort of our residents: Assist residents with activities of daily living including wardrobe, personal hygiene, and mobility. Aid in daily tasks such as use of telephone, laundry, transportation, and mail delivery. Light housekeeping tasks and meal preparation. Medication reminders. Observe and report changes in residents' condition and status. Conduct rounds to monitor hazards or incidents. Assist in dining including escorting residents to the dining room, serving, and clean up.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED.
  • Must be 18 years of age.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Ability to lift and move supplies as needed.
  • Proficiency with inventory tracking systems and computer applications.
  • Completion of a state-approved CNA certified nursing assistant certification course.
  • Ability to treat and care for seniors and their property with dignity and respect.
  • Ability to communicate with clients in a friendly and congenial manner.
