About The Position

The Neighborhood Retirement Community is a beautiful CCRC in Rio Rancho, NM, a senior living community focused on compassionate care for residents and a supportive environment for staff. As part of the PRS network of nonprofit communities, it offers career growth opportunities. The role of Unit Assistant Coordinator (also referred to as Unit Secretary) involves receiving and coordinating incoming calls, ensuring timely and efficient fulfillment of resident and visitor needs, maintaining high customer service, participating in person-centered care activities, and facilitating information exchange between departments.

Requirements

  • Exceptional customer service, communication and organizational skills, especially with cognitively impaired residents
  • High attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to work and communicate effectively with others as well as function independently
  • Knowledge of and follow through with universal precautions

Nice To Haves

  • Minimum of 1 year experience in long-term care or a healthcare environment preferred

Responsibilities

  • Receiving and coordinating incoming calls
  • Ensuring that resident and visitor’s needs are being met in a timely and efficient manner
  • Maintaining a high level of customer service
  • Participating in person-centered, individualized care activities
  • Assisting in the continuity of the exchange of information between departments
