About The Position

Pendleton Sanitary Service Inc. is searching for our next All-Star Heavy Equipment Operator to join us at our transfer station in Pendleton, OR. Starting rate of pay is $26.06/HR with an increase to $26.81/HR at 6-months of employment and increase to $27.56/HR at 1-year of employment. Schedule is: Monday – Friday, with occasional Saturday work as needed. Shift is 7:00 AM – 3:00 PM Safety Sensitive: Yes Qualified candidates must have Front End Loader, Excavator, Yard Truck and Trailer experience. Position requires a Valid Drivers License & Acceptable Motor Vehicle Report DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: REQUIRES ability to efficiently & safely operate Front End Loader, Excavator, Yard Truck and Trailer. Compactor experience preferred. Performs routine inspection and maintenance on vehicles such as checking oil, water, and tires. Ensures proper care in the use and maintenance of equipment and supplies. Promotes continuous improvement of workplace safety and environmental practices. Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned. WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL EFFORT: Extensive physical activity. Requires strenuous physical work; heavy lifting, pushing, or pulling required of objects over 50 pounds. Work environment involves some exposure to hazards or physical risks, which require following basic safety precautions. Ability to operate heavy equipment is required. Knowledge of basic computer skills. Knowledge of light and heavy equipment operation and maintenance. Knowledge of basic vehicle inspection and maintenance including tire pressure, checking oil and water levels. Ability to read, understand, follow, and enforce safety procedures. MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS: High school diploma or equivalent. Minimum 500-hours of Heavy Equipment Operating experience that is directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified. Heavy Equipment Operating certification from an accredited trade school preferred. Basic knowledge of computer skills. Pre-employment requirements for this safety sensitive position include drug panel screening, motor vehicle report, & criminal background check. Requirements
