About The Position

As a CBRE Union Lead Engineer, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations and maintenance of building systems, ensuring optimal performance and reliability. You will guide and support your team, manage projects, and collaborate with various stakeholders to achieve opera ti onal excellence. This job is part of the Engineering and Technical Services job func ti on. They are responsible for providing support, preven tati ve maintenance, and repairs on equipment and systems.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma, GED, or trade school diploma with 4-5 years of job-related experience. In lieu of a diploma, a combina ti on of experience and educa ti on will be considered.
  • Meet the physical requirements of this role including stooping, standing, walking, climbing stairs/ladders, and the ability to lift/carry heavy loads of 50 lbs. or more.
  • Willingness to take a new perspec ti ve on exis ti ng solu ti ons.
  • In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Office products. Examples include Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.
  • Organiza ti onal skills with an advanced inquisi ti ve mindset.
  • Sophis ti cated math skills.
  • Ability to calculate mildly complex figures such as percentages, frac ti ons, and other financial-related calcula ti ons.
  • Ability to impact a range of customer, opera ti on, project, or service ac tivities within own team and other related teams.
  • Capability to work within broad guidelines and policies.
  • Proficiency in coaching others and sharing in-depth knowledge of own job discipline and broad knowledge of several job disciplines within the func ti on.
  • Skill in leading by example and modeling behaviors that are consistent with CBRE RISE values.
  • Ability to build consensus and convince others to reach an agreement

  • Prior shi ft manager or supervisory experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee and inspect the work performed by engineering staff.
  • Ensure that work is complete, equipment is fully func ti onal, and client space is in prime working condi ti on.
  • Review monthly service request summaries to iden ti fy and address recurrent opera ti onal problems.
  • Formulate and implement a preventative maintenance program to ensure that building machinery and systems meet or exceed their rated life.
  • Inspect building systems including fire alarms, HVAC, and plumbing to ensure the opera ti on of equipment is within design capabili ti es and achieves environmental condi ti ons prescribed by the client.
  • Review assigned work orders.
  • Es ti mate time and materials needed to complete repairs.
  • Maintain an inventory of adequate supplies and tools and order necessary materials.
  • Assist team with complex repairs, emergencies, and preven t ive maintenance.
  • Apply advanced knowledge to seek and develop new, better methods for accomplishing both individual and department objec ti ves.
  • Showcase exper ti se in own job discipline and in-depth knowledge of other job disciplines within the organiza ti on func ti on.
  • Coach others to develop in-depth knowledge and exper ti se in most or all areas within the func ti on.
  • Lead by example and model behaviors that are consistent with CBRE RISE values.
