The Uniformed and Overseas Citizen Absentee Voting Act (UOCAVA) Temporary Clerk is a skilled multitasker who works with high-volume, time-sensitive work. You will be responsible for assisting military and overseas voters in registering to vote, updating their voter records, processing their requests for early ballots, and instructing them on how to send/receive ballot materials. You must possess professional communication skills (verbal and written) and have advanced computer skills. This position may also support other divisional operations within Early Voting (e.g., Signature Verification, Curing, etc.). The ideal candidate will be adaptable, flexible, and able to learn new tasks quickly.
Requirements
- This position requires a High School diploma or GED.
- Must be registered, or eligible to register, to vote in Arizona
- Must be able to pass applicable background screening
- Must be able to type 30 WPM
- Must be proficient in using a desktop computer, printer, scanner, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft Teams, Adobe, and Paint
- Must be able to work irregular hours and extended hours based on departmental needs
Nice To Haves
- Preferred candidates will possess at least one (1) year of experience performing administrative duties in an Election office environment.
Responsibilities
- Assist Military and Overseas voters to register to vote, request early ballots, and/or process returned ballots
- Provide excellent communication via telephone and email
- Multitask and manage a high volume of various tasks that are time-sensitive
- Use Microsoft Word, Outlook, Adobe, and Paint daily
- Navigate specialized software using a desktop computer
