About The Position

Underwriting Support Specialist Objective To assist in the evaluation of clients eligibility for insurance. To retain knowledge of acceptance and rejection rules and guidelines, pricing, classification, and hazard recognition. To provide service to policyholders, Farm Bureau Insurance agents and their staff. To assist with day-to-day activities by processing routine underwriting transactions. To compile and maintain information necessary for various underwriting actions or decisions. To review and manage claim memos, activities, and reports to assist in the underwriting review process.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent required.
AINS, API or AU designation required, or must be completed within two years of hire.

Nice To Haves

Associate's degree preferred.
Minimum two years' experience in insurance environment preferred.
Insurance rating experience preferred.

Responsibilities

Acquire and maintain product and technical knowledge with regard to coverage forms and endorsements for risk evaluation.
Review documentation and request documentation when necessary.
Analyze and complete activities within authority limit. Identify risks requiring underwriter evaluation and approval, and assign such risks based on guidelines, procedures and service standards.
