Responsibilities Berkshire Hathaway GUARD Insurance Companies is seeking an Underwriting Intern to support our Underwriting organization through project-based work, documentation support, and cross-functional collaboration. This role is ideal for someone detail-oriented, analytical, and eager to learn how underwriting drives business decisions.

Requirements

• Current enrollment in a bachelor’s program (Risk Management & Insurance, Finance, Business, Economics, Statistics/Data Analytics, or a related field preferred ).
• Analytical problem‑solving skills and comfort working with data (formulas, lookups, and pivot tables).
• Clear written and verbal communication skills and a collaborative mindset for partnering with Underwriting, Distribution, Policy/Underwriting Services, and Loss Control.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the creation and maintenance of Standard Operating Procedure documentation, as well as lookups and other reference materials.
• Provide input on communications and implementation with relevant internal teams, including Underwriting, Distribution, Policy/Underwriting Services, and Loss Control.
• Actively participate in the execution of underwriting projects and initiatives.
